7 Things to do in Orlando
Ride the Orlando Eye
A 400ft ferris wheel looking over International Drive. Tickets are $18 and totally worth it. Seeing the city lights from sky high is quite the feeling.
2. Spend the day at Wekiva Springs
Hands down my favorite place to visit in Orlando. This spring is the perfect place to relax on the water or grab a drink and party the day away. They offer kayak and SUP rentals for a reasonable price. You can spend the day on the water enjoying the wildlife and crystal clear water. There is often alligators posted up on the sidelines so watch out! The park often fills up quickly so be sure to get there in the am.
3. Visit my favorite dive bar - Tanqueray's
Located in downtown Winter Park, you can always count on live music. This bar has a super chill atmosphere and cheap drinks. Check out local bands and meet friendly people everyday of the week. I highly suggest making this bar a priority!
4. Cocoa Beach
One of the most popular beaches in the Orlando area. Not much farther than an hour drive, Cocoa beach is one of the more popular, touristy places to enjoy the water.
5. New Smyrna Beach // Canaveral National Seashore
This beach is beautiful and not so crowded (Canaveral). The few times I went, there were only a few locals surfers in site. I often went here to spend alone time and get away from the touristy spots
6. Silver Springs
Spend the day swimming in this turquoise natural spring. Located an hour and a half outside Orlando is my second favorite spot to hangout in nature. They also offer kayak and SUP rentals. There’s also glass bottom boat tours that are pretty cool. If you aren’t looking to spend much money you can bring your own floaty and kick back in the water for the day.
Other natural springs in the area include Rainbow Springs, Juniper Springs, Silver Glen Springs, Alexander Springs and Rock Springs. Another awesome spot I wasn’t able to visit is Devil’s Den.
7. Go to an Orlando City Game
Whether your a sports fan or not, Orlando City soccer games are where it’s at. These games get pretty wild and are a huge deal to locals. Join the craziness and have an awesome time tailgating and watching the game!
